FAQ

Who is a creator in GMTraffic?

A creator is a user who publishes maps, manages budgets, and views statistics. Creator accounts have an Add map button in the catalog.

How do I create a map?

In the creator dashboard, open Create map, choose a project or island code, set the rate, limits, account requirements, dates, and budget, then publish the map or save it as a draft.

How is the rate set?

The rate is set in $ per minute. In the catalog it is also shown in $/hour for players' convenience.

What access requirements can be set?

Currently you can require lifetime purchases, set player limits, or allow unlimited play.

How does the map budget work?

Balance is tracked separately for each map. Money from one map is not spent on another.

What happens if the map budget runs out?

The map ends. Players see it as completed, and the dashboard shows a notification that the budget is exhausted.

Where can I see active maps?

In My maps. It shows maps, remaining budget, and all-time/daily players from the site.

Where can I see statistics?

In Statistics. It has player charts and a table with core metrics: players, peak, minutes, and payouts.

Why can a map attract players slowly?

If the rate is below market, it can take longer for the map to attract players.

What must a map have?

A map budget is required, plus account requirements if needed and either a player limit or unlimited play.

Can misleading descriptions be used?

No, misleading descriptions are forbidden by the map rules.

Competitive mode

What is competitive mode for a creator?

It is a map type where the creator does not pay a fixed per-minute rate, but sets a prize pool and rewards players who take prize places.

How is it different from a regular map?

On a regular map, the player receives rewards for every minute. In competitive mode, the player competes for a ranking position and a final reward.

What needs to be set when creating this map?

At minimum: event period, end date, prize places, and account requirements. The sum of prizes becomes the map budget and is deducted from the balance on creation.

How are winners determined?

Winners are determined by playtime on the map during the map period. A player must reach at least 10 minutes to be eligible for a prize.

When are results finalized?

After the map period ends and the final player ranking is fixed.

How many prize places can I set?

You can configure 1 to 15 prize places. If there are fewer eligible players than places, undistributed prizes are returned to the creator's balance.
